“If someone followed you around for a week, would they think you were serious about your goals?” — Anonymous
A dream exists whether or not you act on it. The question is — will it stay an idea, or will it become something real?
If you’re reading this, you have ambitions. You want more for yourself. But you’re hesitating. And the longer you wait, the further away it drifts.
Because dreams left unrealised don’t fade. They linger — as regret, as missed chances. As what could have been.
A dream without action is just a fantasy — a mirage that keeps you still.
Let this idea not just wake you up but shift the way you move in the world. Let the words that follow ignite something in you. Not just inspiration — but movement.
The Potter and the Clay
an old Hindu story (slightly adapted)
A boy once asked a potter, “How do you turn a lump of clay into something useful?”
The potter smiled and said, “Watch.” He kneaded the clay, pressing and folding it over and over. “I do this because if the clay isn’t worked enough, it’ll be weak and crumble.”
Then, he shaped it on the wheel, turning it into a perfect pot. The boy asked, “Is it done now?”
The potter laughed. “Not yet.” He placed it in the kiln, where fire hardened it. “Without the fire, it would break too easily. The heat makes it strong.”
The potter looked at the boy and said, “Desire is like raw clay — it has potential, but only effort and hardship make it real.”
The Difference Between a Future and a Fantasy
A fantasy is a dream without commitment. A vision without the weight of action.
It’s clay without the fire. Soft, unshaped, fragile.
You picture yourself playing guitar. You imagine the music, the applause. But your fingers have never touched the strings.
You tell yourself you’ll be rich one day. But you don’t study money. You don’t change your habits.
So, are you serious about your future?
At the end of each day, have you built toward your dream, or have you just clocked out?
Hoping won’t move you forward. Manifestation won’t carry you there. Only movement will.
Find the way.
Shape the path.
Don’t turn back.
Refine, adjust, keep moving.
The Crossroads — what will you choose?
“If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.” — Lao Tzu
You stand at the edge. Two paths. One leads to action. The other leads nowhere.
A dream stays a dream until you move toward it.
You don’t need the perfect plan. You don’t need all the answers. You just need to begin.
Because movement itself reveals the way.
An imperfect plan, followed, is worth more than the perfect plan left untouched.
So — what’s one step you can take today?
Sincerely,
eren

Ironically, I’ve learned that: “dreams are safer as dreams.”
Most prefer to not expose them to air to avoid any threats. Learning the dream won’t happen ironically can be more scary (short-term) than not fulfilling them.
Great piece there, Eren, as usual. This one particularly resonated with me though.
