Becoming unbothered in the midst of life's chaos | Some of my favourite dance tracks | A unique YouTube channel to appreciate the beauty of nature
There’s something nice about a Friday.
It makes me think of when I finished my last day of high school and I was sticking my head out of the car window feeling free as a bird.
Friday invites the weekend - time to work on your passions, see friends and family and enjoy the small things.
Thoughts
Sometimes we're thrown around by life, wishing everything would settle so there could just be stillness for a little while.
It feels like there's always a problem to solve and something unexpected interrupting our peace.
This resistance to things unfolding creates suffering, and we'll continue to suffer if we allow the sea to push us around.
We must be like the rock with the waves crashing around it. - Marcus Aurelius
The rock is unbothered, secure in its place and allows the water to become still around it.
Our pursuit shouldn't be of things going to plan, it should be about creating the thickest layer possible between us and life's external factors.
The ups and downs are inevitable - expecting the waves to stop is fruitless.
Navigating the random combination of waves coming at you is your personal story - a unique path out to sea that is never stale.
This isn’t to downplay life's biggest curveballs, sometimes things go really bad.
The biggest of waves can knock you down to your knees and have you questioning even getting back up at all, a suffering that nobody else could understand - but the roughest of seas demand the best from the sailor.
The way I see it, destiny isn't some magical goal at the end for you to achieve.
Destiny is your personal way of navigating the dice rolled path that's in front of you.
Sounds
A random collection of songs I’ve been going back to recently.
Ferry Sponge - Popnoname
I found a record at Monster Robot Party, a record store in Paddington, Brisbane. It was by Popnoname (the song I found was called No Doubt).
I searched the artist on Spotify and ended up finding this track which I’ve had in my regular rotation ever since. The thick kick drum throws you into the deep end and the song is so intricate and you can tell a lot of time has been poured into it - a must listen.
My all - D.E.A. Project
D.E.A. Project is responsible for countless UK Garage hits, the group originated in South-East London and this Mariah Carey sample is so good that I don’t notice the person beside me at the red light, staring while I sing Mariah Carey lyrics.
There’s also a pitched down version on YouTube with her original voice. I’d kill for a vinyl copy of this.Undefined Emotionz - Orbit Starz
Orbit Starz is a duo that I cannot find much information about, other than the members being Sasa Grandic & Marco Riemann. If anyone knows more please email me back - I’d be interested to know.
This song is a really simple and soothing dance track with some really nice high hat patterns and dubby mids - has been a favourite of mine for a while now.

Plug
The content I want to plug this week comes from a unique Youtube Channel that is indie-film style short videos documenting travel and camera reviews.
https://www.youtube.com/@serr
Serr combines video and photography in a unique, cinematic video log style. I highly recommend you check out his stuff if you like cameras, travel or just appreciate well made content.
Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next Friday!
