One Day You'll Wish You Noticed This Day
Your ordinary life is the miracle you've been searching for
What day is it?" asked Pooh.
"It's today," squeaked Piglet.
"My favorite day," said Pooh.
— A.A. Milne
Those who don't live an extravagant life might be wary of calling every day a miracle.
They might think it's naïve — a luxury for the rich, famous or extraordinary.
But luckily, it isn't.
When you stop and think, the miracle of life becomes apparent:
Are we really alive?
On a spinning rock, in infinite space?
With brains that can feel, love, care and learn?
We're all guilty of getting used to life. Complaining. Feeling like there's no point.
But that's depression's greatest illusion.
We've been convinced that this incredible, unlikely wonderland we're all in is hell.
When really, it's the place where all lottery winners go.
Do not get used to the miracle
“الوقت من ذهب”
“Time is made of gold.”
What if today were your first day on Earth? What would you notice?
The glisten of the sun on the water?
The sound of the birds?
The strange shapes of the clouds?
Would you be in awe at how it was all working?
Maybe you wouldn't be so jaded.
Maybe you'd see everything for what it truly is again.
Or — what if today was your last day?
Would that change how you lived?
Do we not treat today like a miracle because we think tomorrow is guaranteed?
But is that really how we want to live?
Why not hug like it's the last time?
Why not play like it's the last game?
Why not speak with kindness and poise, like they're your final words?
When life feels like a hamster wheel that started so long ago and won't end anytime soon, we become dissociated.
Even lobster and caviar would feel like toast if you had them every day.
But what if we shift the way we think of life?
Change it from a monotonous loop into a fresh, rare and finite experience.
Why not treat every day like it's a miracle — a spectacle — and enjoy the beauty and unlikeliness of it all?
The treasure in every day
"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are."
— Mary Jean Irion
The best way to change your life is to be excited by it.
Revel in the magic of everyday.
Enjoy the night drive with your favourite songs.
Think deeply and often about interesting things.
Appreciate the people who make you feel something.
Notice the fantastic things in front of you every day — and don't take them for granted.
There is so much to be grateful for when you look through the lens of your first and last days on earth.
Life is more special that way.
Every day isn't just its own chapter — it's its own book.
Go to bed each night thinking that was your last,
and wake up with the blessing of one more.
Sincerely,
eren

Another variant of this is: “these days will someday be the good old days.”
Insightful…
When my Dad got really sick, I craved the lightness of a regular boring day.. a day that’s forgettable.. You’re right, that kind of ordinary day is truly a miracle
