Secondly, you're 100% correct about it being better:
I remember a discussion with a nihilist, and it was very hard to debate her.
Because she was right!
You ARE just a speck in the universe. But you are also important. Those don't have to be mutually exclusive.
There is no downside to believing you can make a difference.
